Guiscardo – Falanghina wine Apulia is a lively youthful wine, which is champing at the bit from the moment it is poured into the glass, it enchants for its persistence, pluck and freshness, is pleasantly sour, in harmony with the sharpness of the fruit

Soil characteristics: Stony, on chalky hills
Training system: espalier
Yield per plant: 1 kg approx
Planting year: 2000
Harvest: second half of September
Vinification: maceration on the skins at controlled temperature, after inoculation of selected yeasts in the settled must, fermentation takes place in  steel tanks and malolactic fermentation is exercised
Ageing: the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for two months and in bottles for another two more months at least. The marketing starts in February
Annual production: about 25,000 bottles
Serving temperature: 8 ° -10 ° C

Tasting Notes

Colour: golden yellow with light green reflections
Bouquet: overtones of mineral veins that are proceeded by sensations of white fruit and delicate citrus flavours of the Ionian grapefruits
Palate: bundant freshness, with a pleasant acidity that makes the mouth water for another tasting agreeable, with a long finish which refers to minor notes of exotic fruits
Food pairings: spaghetti pasta with mussels, calamari and pistachio pesto, swordfish carpaccio with green and pink peppercorns, tuna tataki with finely diced cucumbers, aubergine polpetti
Cellaring: to drink when still  young
